Saint Rita's Christian Counseling

Professional Therapy from a Faithful Catholic Perspective

When the problems of life become overwhelming, you need a therapist you can trust. I have been helping families, couples and individuals to heal and thrive for the past 22 years. I also provide therapy for catholic clergy experiencing burnout, addictions, anxiety & depression.

My specializations are treating eating disorders, addictions, abuse and trauma, relationship distress and complicated grief after the loss of a loved one to suicide.

In 2019,  I partnered with Dr. Peter Kleponis of Comprehensive Counseling Services, to help individuals and marriages to heal from the devastation of pornography addiction. I have also expanded my services to include distance therapy via phone and video sessions.

In -Person sessions are available in Southeast Michigan, at either the Dryden or Rochester Hills office.

Therapy can be conducted in person at either the Dryden or Rochester Hills location. I have extensive experience offering Individual, couples, family and group therapy. If face -to -face meetings are not possible, phone and video therapy are an option.

I am available to give presentations for retreats, clergy formation and community events.  Presentation topics include: Improving communication, correcting distorted thinking to treat addictions, parent guidance for behavior management, improving self worth, healing from the trauma of betrayal, practicing self care to prevent burnout, suicide awareness and prevention and grieving during the holidays.

A special area of interest is helping our priests. I am a consultant for Guest House, a residential addiction treatment facility for clergy, in Lake Orion, Michigan. Since 2014, I have been providing individual and group therapy to priests who are food- addicted. This work now includes treating Religious Sisters who come to Guest House for food addiction recovery. I consider it a blessing to be part of their healing and restoration.

I am a director on the board of Opus Bono Sacerdotii, which translates to "for the good of the priesthood.". In 2019, OBS updated its mission; We are committed to providing restorative retreats for priests. As chairperson of the retreat planning committee, I was privileged to organize our successful November 2019 retreat, with the theme "Accessing The Interior Life," as well as our March, 2020 retreat: "Meditating on the Transfiguration," We are looking forward to our summer retreat, which will offer renewal and fellowship for the priests, as they meditate on "The beauty of the Real Presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament."
